Contos do Povo da Bola: Bringing the Soul of Football to the World

Football isn’t just about players and referees on the pitch. Beyond the field lies a myriad of characters who rarely make it to the mainstream media but contribute an incredible cultural richness, giving Brazilian football its unique shine. We needed to showcase this to the world.

These characters came to life and were introduced to thousands of fans through the documentary series Contos do Povo da Bola, produced during the 2018 and 2019 editions of the Copa do Brasil. The series captured genuine, unique, and unforgettable moments and people from the most remote corners of Brazil.

Facebook saw the potential of this initiative and partnered with us exclusively to use Contos do Povo da Bola as the flagship content for launching and popularizing its new video platform, Facebook Watch, in Latin America.

Not only did the documentary elevate the Copa do Brasil by showcasing its value beyond the matches, but it also fostered a closer and more human connection with Brazilian fans. A true masterstroke—off the pitch.
