Football is not only about the players and referees at the pitch. Beyond it, there is a variety of characters who are not shown in the mainstream media, but who present an incredible cultural richness which gives our football its unique charm.
These characters gained life and could be seen and known by thousands of supporters through the documentary series “Contos do Povo da Bola” (Tales of the People of the Ball, in free translation) produced during the Brazil Cups of 2018 and 2019. The scenes showed people and moments of genuine football, unique and unforgettable, coming from all corners of Brazil.
Facebook took the initiative and made an exclusive partnership to broadcast “Contos do Povo da Bola” to promote in Latin America its new video feature: Facebook Watch.
Besides valuing the Brazil Cup as a product, with assets going over the matches in the pitch, the documentary promoted a more humane and close communication with the Brazilian supporters. It was an amazing goal beyond the pitches.
